Senior Software Quality Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Software Quality Engineer to lead our quality assurance efforts and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in exploratory testing and regression test automation, with excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to define acceptance criteria and develop robust testing strategies for complex software systems.
  • Analyze and decompose complex software systems to design a holistic test strategy.
  • Research emerging technologies and develop a test automation framework.
  • Create and maintain test suites comprising various test scenarios and cases.
  • Implement a risk-based approach for test automation and perform time-boxed exploratory testing.
  • Maintain the regression test suite in the QA nightly build and refine the smoke test suite in the Development CI environment.
  • Lead system integration testing with other system owners and manage user acceptance testing.
  • Oversee the defect life cycle, manage test artifacts, and maintain the test repository.
  • Drive continuous improvement in agile testing practices and tools.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in exploratory testing and regression test automation.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in agile development environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Robot Framework, SikuliX, Selenium, Playwright, or Micro Focus Testing Tools (Mobile Center, UFT, QC, and Sprinter).
  • Certification as a Software Testing Professional and/or Software Quality Analyst is advantageous.
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
