Research Associate (Behavioral Economics)Join to apply for the Research Associate (Behavioral Economics)role at Nanyang Technological University Singapore . The NTU Centre in Computational Technologies for Finance (CCTF) is a newly created Pan‐University Centre co‐managed by the College of Engineering (CoE) and Nanyang Business School (NBS), coordinating and supporting the University's blockchain initiatives and programmes. The Research Associate will be part of NTU's Experimental Economics group in the Economics Programme at the School of Social Sciences. The team focuses on lab experiments simulating behavioural games and asset market experiments to study strategic behaviour, prosocial preferences, asset bubbles and the impact of AI on human behaviour, using quantitative methods, econometrics, and statistics. Key Responsibilities Managing research projects with a team of faculty and students at NTU, from conceptualisation to publication. Conducting research on topics related to experimental finance and asset markets. Programming experiments with z-tree, Python, and oTree. Running computational laboratory economic experiments. Performing research duties (IRB protocol, subsidy submissions, database management, data entry, coding). Assisting with organising and implementing lab economics and behavioural experiments. Preparing logistics for lab and field economics and behavioural experiments. Compiling, processing, and analysing data from the experiments using statistics and econometrics software STATA and/or R. Engaging in academic activities (proofreading, preparing reports, grants, presenting findings). Writing one paper independently and completing one to two working papers with the PI. Supporting project operations and helping organise group meetings and conferences when needed. Job Requirements Preferably holds an MSc in Economics or a Master by Research in Economics, particularly in behavioural and experimental economics; PhD candidates will also be considered. Demonstrated knowledge of experimental economics, behavioural bias, heterogeneous agent models, asset pricing, and financial market decision-making. Proven ability to conduct independent economic research and assumes responsibility for development and completion of research papers. Experience working as part of a research team, collaborating with others to meet project aims and deadlines. Track record in research. Knowledge of theoretical models in behavioural economics and finance. Strong skills in econometrics and quantitative methods. Strong software engineering experience; mastery of key programming languages such as Python, Matlab, R, and experimental economics software such as Ztree and Otree.
