Who We Are The Knowledge Platform team is at the heart of our data and AI strategy. We build foundational infrastructure to enable data, AI, and ML at scale, including data infrastructure (Databricks, Spark, Kafka), serving data to users (RAG, MCP), and hosting/governing AI/ML models. Role Overview As the Manager for Realtime Data Platform, you will oversee large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across the data ecosystem. You will define the multi-year vision and technical roadmap for real-time data analysis and serving needs, align with business objectives and product goals, scale engineering teams, define new roles, and establish best practices for cross-team collaboration. Responsibilities Provide visionary technical leadership and define a 1-3 year strategic roadmap for the Real-time Data Platform. Lead modernization of the core data platform, introducing real-time analytical processing at petabyte scale. Partner with product teams to enable data-driven features (e.g., AI-powered apps or real-time dashboards) by ensuring underlying platform capabilities are in place. Scale and structure engineering teams, including hiring and mentoring managers and senior individual contributors. Foster strong relationships with product and other engineering teams, acting as a trusted technical advisor on Data and AI. Who You Are We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. Preferred qualifications are nice-to-have but not mandatory. Minimum Requirements 8+ years of experience in data or software engineering, with at least 3 years in leadership or management. Proven success in managing and scaling an engineering team of 10+ people, including managers and senior ICs. Ability to define and execute a technical strategy that delivered significant business outcomes or operational improvements. Strong command of data and software engineering domains, with focus on architecture and strategy. Deep understanding of distributed data processing (e.g., Apache Spark, Databricks) and event streaming (e.g., Kafka). Solid knowledge of modern data storage/serving technologies (e.g., CubeJS, ElasticSearch, Clickhouse). Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus). Preferred Qualifications Experience in the financial domain. Hands-on design experience for data processing patterns in a Lakehouse architecture. Excellent written and verbal communication tailored for diverse audiences (leadership, users, company-wide). Ability to rapidly evaluate technologies and conduct proofs of concept to drive architecture decisions. Ability to thrive in a complex environment.
