Job Summary: The Scaffolder is responsible for the safe and efficient assembly, dismantling, and maintenance of scaffolding on construction sites. This includes providing technical guidance on scaffold installation, offering hands-on labor support, and ensuring that scaffolding structures meet safety standards.The role requires the ability to detect and resolve any issues physically and immediately, ensuring the stability and integrity of scaffolding systems. The Scaffolder will collaborate with other team members and contribute to the successful and safe completion of construction projects.Key Responsibilities: Scaffold Assembly and Dismantling: Construct, assemble, install, and dismantle scaffolding systems according to design specifications, project requirements, and safety regulations. Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance during scaffold installation, offering minor showcases and demonstrations on best practices for proper scaffold setup. Assist junior scaffolders and laborers with hands-on support when needed. Issue Detection: Physically inspect scaffolding structures to detect any potential issues, errors, or safety concerns, such as improper alignment, instability, or damaged components. Take immediate corrective action to address these issues. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all scaffolding work is carried out in full compliance with local safety standards, company policies, and legal requirements. Conduct regular safety checks to ensure scaffold structures are stable and secure. Collaboration: Work closely with site managers, supervisors, and other workers to ensure scaffolding meets project timelines and specifications. Communicate any safety concerns or material shortages to the appropriate parties. Inspection and Maintenance: Regularly inspect scaffolding installations, perform routine maintenance and necessary adjustments to ensure that scaffolding is functioning properly and safely throughout the duration of the project. On-the-Job Support: Provide labor support when needed, assisting with the movement of materials, the installation of additional scaffolding parts, or any other tasks required on-site. Requirements: Educational Qualification: Any relevant qualification is an advantage. Experience: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in scaffolding work or a similar construction-related role. Previous experience in high-rise buildings, industrial projects, or large-scale construction sites is an advantage. Physical Fitness: Ability of working at heights. Knowledge of Safety Standards: A solid understanding of scaffolding safety standards, building codes, and fall protection systems. Ability to recognize and address hazards. Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret scaffolding blueprints and project plans, with the capability to provide technical input during scaffold installations. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues during scaffold installations and suggest immediate solutions to correct any errors or deficiencies in structure or alignment. Teamwork: Ability to work in a collaborative environment, assisting colleagues when needed, and ensuring effective communication with supervisors and other workers. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to report issues, provide guidance, and ensure clear instructions are given to less experienced workers. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, especially when detecting physical errors or potential risks in scaffolding systems. Language: Able to communicate and write in both English and Chinese. Desirable Skills & Attributes: Hands-On Leadership: Comfortable providing hands-on guidance and showcasing proper installation techniques to junior scaffolders or team members. Experience with Scaffold Design and Layout: Ability to contribute to the planning and design of scaffolding systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and site conditions. Positive Work Ethic: Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude, reliability, and a focus on achieving project goals while maintaining high safety standards.
