As a Coding Specialist at Ventra, you will play a crucial role in reviewing medical documents to accurately identify procedures and diagnoses. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that encounters are coded correctly based on the received documentation, adhering to the latest coding guidelines, and effectively communicating any inadequate or incorrect documentation to ensure compliant coding.Your essential functions and tasks will involve analyzing medical record documentation, assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes and modifiers, conducting MIPS reviews, and assisting with provider QA and coding management. You will also be responsible for documenting coding errors, participating in client/provider audits, providing feedback to coders, and maintaining confidentiality as per HIPAA guidelines and Ventra Health policy.To excel in this role, you are required to have a High School diploma or equivalent, along with RHIT and/or CPC certification. Previous experience in medical billing, familiarity with 2023 MDM Guidelines, and a deep understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding systems are preferred. You should also possess strong communication, time management, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to interpret documentation accurately and apply relevant laws and regulations effectively.At Ventra, your compensation will be determined based on various factors such as geographic location, skill set, experience, and qualifications. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus as per company policies.
