Job Overview:
The Meat Cutter position is a dynamic role that requires attention to detail, strong knife skills, and excellent customer service abilities. As a key member of the meat department team, you will be responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, and packaging meat products in accordance with company standards and customer preferences.
Responsibilities:
  • Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, lamb, poultry, and seafood to prepare standard cuts.
  • Weigh, wrap, and label meat products for display or special orders.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, including equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Ensure all products are rotated, stored properly, and meet quality and freshness standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and fulfilling special requests.
  • Follow safety and food handling guidelines as mandated by health regulations.
  • Assist in inventory management and receiving of meat deliveries.
  • Sharpen and maintain knives and cutting tools.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years prior experience as a meat cutter, butcher, or similar role required.
  • Knowledge of different meat cuts and safe meat handling practices.
  • Strong knife skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in cold environments and stand for long hours.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and must be able to carry heavy items.
  • Able to work weekends and public holidays.
  • Able to work night shifts.
