Overview Risk & Compliance Manager, Mandai Nature Mandai Nature is a Singapore-based non-profit conservation organisation jointly set up by Temasek and Mandai Wildlife Group. Mandai Nature is the conservation arm of Mandai Wildlife Group and focuses on biodiversity protection in Singapore and Asia. Through impactful programmes and partnerships, Mandai Nature strives to protect nature and inspire action. Role purpose: Actively drive the implementation of the company’s Risk Management Framework to support business and strategic goals, including adherence to essential legislative and regulatory standards. The role requires an experienced risk and compliance professional who can balance rigorous risk management with practical considerations across Mandai Nature’s operating regions. The candidate should be passionate, adaptable and capable of working in a small, dynamic team, with strong stakeholder management to safeguard compliance while maintaining good working relationships. Key Responsibilities Risk Identification, Assessment and Management: Support the Deputy Vice President, Finance & Governance to continually develop, improve and maintain a robust risk management framework and a controlled environment to reduce risk. Focus areas include Enterprise Risk Management, Grant Risk Management, Donor Risk Management and Health & Safety risk management for programme teams. Track key business processes, identify risks and issues related to these processes, and work with team members to devise risk mitigation measures. Ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of identified risks and relevant mitigation measures. Perform grant and donor due diligence assessments and assist in second line control activities, such as risk reviews on assessments performed by others. Provide input and guidance to internal stakeholders to manage the organisation’s risk exposure in day-to-day operations. Document key risk policies and processes; support planning and execution of risk management training and workshops; liaise with internal auditors. Compliance and Governance Support the Deputy Vice President, Finance & Governance to ensure robust policies and processes to fulfil compliance requirements. Perform compliance obligations mapping to meet legal regulations, charity regulations, Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorist Financing regulations and contractual obligations. Highlight deficiencies in compliance processes and provide recommendations to close gaps. Document key compliance policies and processes; maintain the master contract list and ensure all legal contracts are organized centrally with key obligations tracked. Other ad hoc tasks Lead or support business process and system improvements as needed; undertake other special projects or ad hoc tasks. Job Requirements Degree in Business, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or related field from a recognised university. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in risk management and compliance. Proven track record in formulating and implementing risk and compliance management and operating practices. Proficient in risk management and regulatory requirements; knowledge of compliance frameworks and third-party risk management is desirable. Knowledge of charity regulations is a plus but not mandatory. Excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills. Experience in internal audit is preferred; experience working with diverse stakeholders; experience in non-profit organisations is advantageous but not mandatory. Attention to detail; strong stakeholder engagement, written and verbal communication, and analytical/problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams; high integrity and accountability; proactive, adaptable, and willing to support others.
