Overview
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Exercise Placement Lead, based in Kensington, Sydney, Australia. Employment Type: Full-time (35 hours a week). Duration: Continuing. Remuneration: $127k - $178k base (+17% super and leave loading). Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available. Candidates must have full rights to work in Australia.
Responsibilities
The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in exercise science / exercise physiology (clinical education) will be primarily responsible for experiential learning (clinical placements) throughout the exercise science and exercise physiology program. The role supports educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities and drives high-quality teaching and student experience in clinical education and related placements.
Qualifications and Requirements
A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience
Accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Knowledge and experience in clinical areas relevant to the practice of exercise science and exercise physiology and the ability to deliver appropriate client care
Active engagement in discipline knowledge and professional development
Knowledge and experience of practicum/placement requirements for exercise science and exercise physiology
Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and assessment at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence, including curriculum design for clinical education
Experience or knowledge of work-integrated learning (desirable)
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
Level C (in addition to the above): Advanced clinical knowledge and ability to deliver client-centered care
Evidence of professional development to advance inclusive learning and teaching cultures
Experience in initiating curriculum development and improvement
