Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Deputy Fleet Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that vessels comply with company, safety management system (SMS), international and local regulations.

The Deputy Fleet Manager will also be responsible for monitoring vessel performance and providing technical guidance to the vessel, including monitoring and verifying performance management systems (PMS).

In addition, the role will involve preparing operating expenses, budgets, and organizing supplies to the vessel, as well as ensuring that expenses are within approved limits.

The Deputy Fleet Manager will also arrange for surveys and repairs for vessels under their charge and communicate with the vessel on a daily basis to handle and escalate any issues of concern.

The role also involves monitoring reports sent by the vessel and submitting reports to the owner as per their requirements after verification.

Other key responsibilities include carrying out vessel inspections and following up on the closure of audit reports.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Naval Architecture or Engineering or a Chief Engineer's license is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Senior Vessel Manager is necessary.
  • Experience on Bulk Carriers (Supramax & Handy size) is desirable.
  • The ideal candidate should be professionally sound, highly motivated, and a good team player.
