Job Title: Deputy Technical Superintendent

The company is seeking an experienced professional to take up the role of a Deputy Technical Superintendent. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vessels.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve high standards of safe and pollution-free operations by implementing company policies related to health, safety, security, environment, and quality assurance (HSEQA).
  2. Manage assigned vessels, including close communication with stakeholders, compliance with owners' and charterers' requirements, and monitoring of marine and technical operations.
  3. Stay up-to-date with international regulations and ensure assigned vessels comply with them.
  4. Provide technical assistance and advice to ships.
  5. Carry out periodic technical and operational compliance audits to ensure vessels are always operational-ready.
  6. Assist in investigations of insurance-related matters.
  7. Liaise with the procurement team to source technical and operational supplies at competitive rates.
  8. Develop annual operating budgets for assigned vessels, considering forthcoming repairs, maintenance, statutory, flag, and port requirements.
  9. Closely monitor and review vessel conditions to ensure compliance with Port State Control and Oil Majors regulations.
  10. Effectively carry out routine vessel inspections, dry-docking, and major repairs.
  11. Plan and implement corrective actions for defects and ensure compliance with planned maintenance schedules.
  12. Monitor and ensure valid vessel certifications and surveys/renewals are planned in time.
  13. Ensure fleet performance is within charter party requirements and company goals.

Requirements:

  1. Educational qualification: COC Class 1 for G.G Vessels for LPG or Bulk Vessels.
  2. Must have sailed on LNG or LPG carriers as Chief Engineer.
  3. Hands-on experience in cargo tank construction and maintenance, propulsion systems, and PMS, ISM, PSC, Flag & Class requirements.
  4. At least two years of experience handling Foreign Going vessels as Technical Superintendent.
