Singapore TES FE News Full time

Overview
Tanglin Trust School is Singapore’s oldest British international school, offering a rigorous and holistic education from Nursery to Sixth Form. With a rich tradition of academic excellence and innovation, Tanglin is committed to nurturing lifelong learners who are confident, compassionate, and globally minded. Technology is deeply embedded across all phases of the school—from Infant to Senior—and plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of learning.
Role Overview
The Outdoor Education specialist at Tanglin Trust School will bring wide experience in outdoor and adventurous environments, together with the ability to design and deliver high-quality, age-appropriate programmes across the 3–18 age range. The role requires excellent critical judgement, strong practical skills, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure, including executing dynamic risk assessments and leading safe, challenging, and memorable experiences for students of all ages.
As a cross-school role, the Outdoor Education specialist will contribute to Forest School (Nursery–Year 2), Outdoor Education skills within Junior School, and a range of co-curricular programmes captured under two pathways: Exploration and Outdoor Work. A significant responsibility will be leading the Exploration Society, a weekly club for students from Years 5–12 that provides pathways into discipline-specific adventures such as kayaking and sailing, while also creating leadership opportunities for Senior students to inspire and support younger learners.
The role also includes contributing to the planning and delivery of expeditions and Outdoor Education focused year group residentials, this includes the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, with responsibility for leading 3–6 expeditions annually overseas. In addition, the Outdoor Education specialist will oversee equipment management and storeroom organisation, as well as conducting weekly site visits to ensure readiness, safety, and quality of provision.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Department, Outdoor Education Coordinator, external providers, and wider school teams to ensure programmes are of the highest quality, align with Tanglin’s educational philosophy, and contribute to the growth of outdoor education across our expanding campuses, including our new Australia site. Fundamentally, this role is about inspiring and enabling students more access to the outdoors for now and years to come.
The role reports to the Head of Outdoor Education.
