Purpose of Position Assist daily air freight ops: cargo handling, docs, coordination, compliance, team support, and reporting in warehouse shift work setting.Responsibilities Carry out daily air freight operations, including receiving, breakdown, build-up, cargo handling, and shipment dispatch. Perform advanced cargo verification tasks such as checking AWB/HAWB details, cargo labeling accuracy, and special cargo handling requirements. Handle shipment documentation in warehouse systems (e.g., Tango, Cargowise, GXD), ensuring data accuracy and timely updates Coordinate with drivers, transport teams, office staff, and airlines/terminal operators to facilitate smooth cargo flow. Assist in monitoring operational timelines and highlight potential delays or issues to the Team Lead or Supervisor. Conduct shipment checks, verify cargo labels, documentation, and ensure correct handling procedures are followed. Ensure compliance with SOPs, HSE guidelines, 5S standards, and security procedures. Prepare basic operational logs, discrepancy reports, and shift handover updates Specific Accountabilities Ensure all inbound and outbound air freight shipments are processed accurately and on time. Monitor team performance and highlight issues to the Supervisor for follow-up. Maintain discipline, attendance, and work quality among team members. Drive housekeeping, 5S, and safety compliance across assigned work areas. Support Team Leads during peak periods by guiding junior staff on required tasks. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of air freight processes and warehouse operations. Ability to work independently, handle time-sensitive tasks, and manage multiple shipments concurrently. Knowledge of HSE, 5S, and regulatory/airline compliance requirements. Qualifications Valid forklift license. Able to read, write, and converse in good English. Relevant certifications in air freight handling or warehouse processes are advantageous (e.g., IATA DGR awareness, forklift license is an added advantage).
