Job Title: Solar Engineer

Solar Engineer Job Description

The primary responsibility of the successful applicant will be to design, install and project manage solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PV system designs, including site assessments, layout preparation and permitting.
  • Lead project teams to ensure timely completion of projects within budget constraints.
  • Supervise workers and contractors on-site and collaborate with clients and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise in assessing sites, conducting detailed drawings, and estimating solar project capacity and costs.
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure all projects meet industry standards.
  • Liaise with procurement teams to guarantee sufficient and timely material supply.
  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing solar PV systems.
  • Engage in sales presentations and client meetings as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of one year experience in solar PV design and engineering for rooftop, ground-mounted, or floating PV systems.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software, such as AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage clients and stakeholders.

Key Competencies and Skills

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in PVSyst, electrical cable sizing, single-line diagram design, and other relevant software tools.
  • Soft Skills: Highly motivated, independent problem-solver, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
