Overview
Production Continuous Improvement Engineer
Analyse production data to identify opportunities for improvement, conduct root cause analyses for issues, develop strategies to optimize workflows and ensure safety.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage continuous improvement projects with clear goals and timelines
Facilitate Kaizen events, root cause analyses, and problem-solving workshops
Coach and train production teams on continual improvement tools and methodology
Ensure CI initiatives align with business objectives and deliver measurable results
Analyse production workflows to identify bottlenecks and waste
Implement Lean tools (5S, Kaizen) to increase efficiency
Develop and track KPIs to monitor productivity performance
Support manpower and resource planning for optimized utilization
Manage production processes to maintain consistent quality
Implement and manage in-process inspections for monitoring
Participate in investigations, root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions
Conduct regular inspections and enforce applicable safety regulations
Carry out risk assessments and draft work instructions and safe work procedures to identify and mitigate hazards
Identify opportunities for safety improvements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvement initiatives
Provide training and coaching on CI tools and methodologies
Prepare reports on production indicators for monitoring and review
Track, measure and report on CI project progress and results (KPI and efficiency)
Act as a link between management and operators and communicate employee concerns and suggestions
Carry out any other tasks assigned to support operational excellence
Qualifications
Qualification:
Diploma in Chemical Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing / Leather Technology or related field
Experience
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in production / process engineering / continuous improvement in manufacturing / leather industry preferred
Skills
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form
Supervisory experience is essential
Good understanding of manufacturing process flow and supporting functions
Data analysis and reporting skills for monitoring KPI, cycle times and process efficiency
Knowledge of hazardous substances is essential
