We are seeking an experienced Senior 2D Concept Artist with a strong background in the game industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of game design and visual storytelling, along with the ability to create high-quality concept art that sets the tone for our projects. You will work closely with the art lead, game designers, and other team members to bring our creative visions to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality concept art, including character designs, environments, props, and visual themes that align with the project’s artistic direction.
  • Collaborate with the art lead, game designers, and other team members to translate creative ideas into visual concepts.
  • Mentor junior artists, providing guidance on both traditional and AI-enhanced artistic techniques.
  • Develop mood boards, sketches, color studies, and final renderings that communicate the visual direction of the game effectively.
  • Ensure that all concept art is consistent with the game’s style, narrative, and gameplay requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, especially in AI, and apply this knowledge to enhance our creative processes.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in games as a concept artist collaborating with 2d artists and designers to help establish visual targets and character ideation.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop and other relevant painting tools).
  • Solid understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, and composition.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI into the creative workflow to improve efficiency and creativity.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and make iterative improvements to your designs.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of how art contributes to the overall game experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Illustration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Able to communicate in English and Chinese.
  • Experience in mobile games.

Bonus Skills:

  • AI tools (Midjourney and Stable Diffusion).
  • Basic proficiency in 3D software like 3D max/ Blender for modeling and texture in-game assets.
  • Knowledge of Agile development processes and how art integrates into the pipeline.
