We are seeking a dynamic Deputy Director, System Solutioning for Sense-Making and Surveillance (S&S) CoE to spearhead strategic initiatives in system solutioning within the S&S Centre of Excellence. In this role, you will lead the development of cost-efficient solutions leveraging Sensors, Vision-AI, and IoT technologies to address diverse use cases from Home Team Departments (HTDs), COEs, and PMCs. You will identify opportunities for innovation and technical advancement while building and managing a robust S&S solutions and product portfolio within budgetary and operational constraints. As a leader, you will mentor and guide a team of engineers and technology managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Additionally, you will serve as a trusted Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical advisory support to other COEs, PMCs, and HTDs in areas related to sense-making and surveillance technologies.
What you will be working on:
Identify and prioritize development areas in collaboration with HTD users.
Regularly review roadmaps and workstreams, addressing user requirements and operational gaps identified by stakeholders.
Stay updated on advancements in AI and IoT to identify opportunities for HTX and HTDs, while guiding the team in conceptualizing and prototyping new products and solutions.
Advise the team on solution development approaches, balancing development costs and technical performance.
Establish engineering frameworks, guidelines, and processes aligned with industry best practices in software development and applied R&D.
Develop engineering disciplines within the S&S CoE, including documentation standards, version controls, design modularization, and code reusability.
Conduct work planning to align with HTX/S&S CoE’s strategic direction, ensuring tasks are assigned meaningfully and match individual strengths.
Identify training and development needs at an individual level, fostering personal growth and maintaining top-level technical competency across the S&S CoE.
Facilitate regular feedback and dialogue sessions to create a healthy and empowering work environment.
Provide subject matter expertise and technical consultancy to HTDs, PMCs, and COEs on S&S-related projects.
Guide the team in evaluating commercial solutions, tailoring approaches based on use case complexity and user requirements.
Represent HTX as a thought leader at forums and conferences.
What we are looking for:
Tertiary education in the technology or relevant domain.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in the ICT domain with 8 years of practical system and software engineering work.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the development and delivery of large-scale ICT projects with proven track records.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in management project/product teams that include budgeting, stakeholder engagements.
Knowledge in multi-tier architectures for video surveillances and analytics platforms in one or more cloud service providers.
Strong leadership and supervisory track records with experience in leading and collaborating with multi-agencies teams.
Understanding of Home Team Departments’ business and technical requirements and cognizant of AI technologies in areas of Video Analytics, Sensors & IoT platforms and sensors related technologies.
Self-motivated.
Able to think strategically and translate strategy into implementation.
Clear headed under pressure.
Has high level of integrity.
Can function well either as a team player or an individual.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
