Computer Network Architectural Specialist

About This Role

The Network Architectural Specialist is a senior technical position responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of computer networks. This involves overseeing daily network operations, implementing changes, reviewing change scripts, and providing support for incident and problem troubleshooting.

This role requires effective collaboration with infra tower teams to troubleshoot and identify root causes related to the network. Additionally, it involves working with network vendors' support teams for troubleshooting, identification, and resolution of network problems.

Network Architectural Specialists must be able to handle critical network incidents under pressure situations to resolve in a timely manner and minimize business impact. They should also be able to communicate effectively and work independently.

Maintaining adherence to process and policies is crucial for this role. Proactive identification of potential network problems and imminent business impact areas, as well as prevention measures, are essential skills for success.

An ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field, along with 7+ years of network operation experience. CCIE certification is mandatory. Expertise in network protocols, architectures, and technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, MP-BGP, EVPN is required. Strong knowledge of networking concepts including Routing, switching, LAN/WAN, Spanning Tree Protocol, HSRP, ARP, VLAN, Inter-VLAN Routing, OSPF, BGP, VxLAN, Cisco ACI, VxLAN BGP eVPN, SDA, SDWAN is necessary.

A strong problem-solving skillset, logical and analytical thinking, and positive attitude are vital for success in this role. Excellent team player and interpersonal skills are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage network incidents escalations from L1/L2, incident and problem, and security incident response.
• Work with infra tower teams to troubleshoot and identify root causes related to the network.
• Collaborate with network vendors' support teams for troubleshooting, identification, and resolution of network problems.
• Handle critical network incidents under pressure situations to resolve in a timely manner and minimize business impact.
• Attend conference calls with other support teams for problem identification and resolutions.
• Communicate effectively and work independently.
• Maintain adherence to process and policies of the organization.
• Work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Proactively identify potential network problems and imminent business impact areas and prevent them.
• Guide junior team members on network-related tasks.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or related field.
• 7+ years of network operation experience.
• CCIE certification is mandatory.
• Expertise in network protocols, architectures, and technologies (e.g. TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, MP-BGP, EVPN).
• In-depth understanding of networking concepts - Routing, switching, LAN/WAN, Spanning Tree Protocol, HSRP, ARP, VLAN, Inter-VLAN Routing, OSPF, BGP, VxLAN, Cisco ACI, VxLAN BGP eVPN, SDA, SDWAN, etc.
• Hands-on experience on routers and switches for advanced troubleshooting of network-related problems and incidents.
• Advanced hands-on experience on troubleshooting complex network problems.
• Logical and analytical thinking and problem analysis skills to troubleshoot complex network problems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and positive attitude.
