Job Role Summary

The Network Infrastructure Specialist plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining network architecture to ensure high availability, performance, and security. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize network environments, and deliver successful projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and deploy network solutions, including LAN/WAN, wireless, and VPN infrastructure.
  • Plan and implement network upgrades and installations based on industry best practices and cutting-edge technology.
  • Monitor network performance, diagnose issues, and perform health checks and capacity planning to ensure optimal system operation.
  • Implement and maintain network security protocols, such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation to safeguard against cyber threats.
  • Analyze network traffic and optimize infrastructure to meet business needs and drive revenue growth.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and process improvement.
  • Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and infrastructure status to inform strategic decision-making.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in network infrastructure design, implementation, and administration.
  • Proficiency in enterprise-level networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, MPLS, and QoS.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools (Wireshark, PingPlotter, SolarWinds, PRTG) and cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
