Medical Laboratory Technologist Role

This role is responsible for performing blood collection and dispatching properly labeled specimens to the laboratory.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct blood collection and ensure specimens are dispatched in accordance with laboratory protocols and standard universal precautions.
  • Utilize Laboratory Information System to perform tasks such as order entry, sample receipt, result query, and result entry.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance workflow and processes.
  • Prioritize laboratory tests or POCT if assigned.
  • Maintain laboratory instrumentation and safety equipment through preventive measures.

Required Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in performing venipuncture for blood specimens collection and 3 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in supervising a team.
  • Fundamental computer literacy in proficiency with laboratory information system.

Working Environment:

  • Public Healthcare Facilities.
