Medical Specimen Collector Role

This is a fulfilling position that requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages via various methods, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Evaluate patient identification and verify compliance with test requirements to ensure accurate results.
  • Implement strict protocols for pre-blood collection, blood collection, and post-blood collection procedures, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Label, sort, and enter data into the Laboratory Information System before transferring samples to the laboratory for analysis.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies used by the specimen collection team, optimizing resource allocation.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by superiors, supporting the smooth operation of the laboratory.
Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • A Certificate in Phlebotomy or a related field.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience in medical specimen collection.
  • The ability to work 5.5 days per week, including weekends, to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Prior experience in project settings or pediatrics is an asset, providing valuable insight and expertise.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and issue resolution.
