Overview 2 Hour Learning seeks a technical architect to lead the evolution of an AI‑driven learning platform. This executive‑level role combines technical depth, product clarity, and a passion for unlocking student achievement at scale. You will act as a CTO‑like technical leader while maintaining product entrepreneur velocity, making trade‑offs that keep our products efficient, scalable, and laser‑focused on student results. What You Will Be Doing Building and applying comprehensive education product knowledge to inform strategic choices. Crafting technical specifications that resolve critical decisions and emphasize simplicity, performance, and sustainable design. Deploying generative AI solutions to automate and optimize engineering workflows, minimizing manual effort. What You Won’t Be Doing Pure people management; technical and business judgment will define the role. Spending time in meetings, committees, or procedural overhead; management tasks are streamlined. Abstract strategies without actionable implementation; guidance must be grounded in product‑level understanding. Vice President Of Product Engineering Key Responsibilities Serve as the CTO of one or more education products, controlling core technical capabilities and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership. Basic Requirements Deep experience or interest in data‑driven learning science. 7+ years of experience making architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as application of design patterns or significant open source technologies. 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS). 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue‑generating product. Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI. Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes. Working with us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The role is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $200 USD/hour, totaling $400,000 USD per year (based on 40 hours/week, 50 weeks/year).
