The Financial Controller will be based in China, reporting to headquarter in Singapore. He/ She will be responsible for managing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Group policies, overseeing the preparation of financial reports, developing budgets & forecasting, performing analysis/ monitoring, and improving financial and internal control procedures. This role is also supporting local and HQ management in financial decision-making and strategic planning through quality reporting and business analysis.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong financial and commercial management framework in entities in China
  • Provide support in China business development and engage actively with business heads to provide effective commercial analysis to drive on-going business and profit targets
  • Lead and manage all China accounting teams, including training and growth development of key accounting personnels
  • Ensure effective policies and good internal control processes are in place to safeguard the assets and interest of the company
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial management reports and various reports as required to Head Quarter.
  • Review and analyse monthly financial reports, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, providing business performance reports and financial highlights
  • Credit control management and monitoring
  • Banking and Treasury management, and Tax planning
  • Ensure effective internal control processes and the integrity of financials in accordance with the Group policy and practice.
  • Liaison with external parties such as auditors, bankers and tax governance for local and overseas reporting requirements, ensuring local statutory and group policy compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy, Finance or professional qualification in Accountancy
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in accounting and business finance with proven track records
  • Strong in strategic planning, problem solving skills and excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders.
  • strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and relevant accounting standards
  • Strong sense of urgency, responsibility and commitment
  • Attention to detail, highly motivated and proactive
  • Possess strong business acumen, and familiarity with best global practices of business processes
  • Be able to acquire commercial creditability to engage at executive level to communicate with business heads in China and Singapore team
  • Experience in freight management business is an advantage
  • Must be able to work independently and be willing to station in China and travel frequently within China
  • Good command in English and Chinese, both in speaking and writing as the job is based in China and requires dealings with Chinese speaking Associates and team.
