Job Summary:

We are seeking a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Operator to join our team. As an HGV Operator, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials from one location to another.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular vehicle checks to ensure they are in good working order and comply with safety regulations.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Loading and unloading goods efficiently and safely.
  • Navigating through congested traffic while adhering to road signs and signals.
  • Monitoring weather conditions and adapting driving techniques accordingly.
  • Maintaining accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any issues encountered during transit.
  • Following company policies and procedures for safe loading and unloading of goods.

Desirable Skills:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations on the road.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • A valid Class 4 driving license and knowledge of road safety regulations.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Basic computer skills to operate vehicles' onboard systems and track vehicle performance.
