Teaching duties
Teach IB English and Literature to students in MYP and DP.
Create engaging units of inquiry combining language study and literature.
Prepare students for IB assessments in English and Literature, including essays and oral components.
Support individual learning needs with targeted strategies in English and Literature.
Collaborate with colleagues to align teaching across grade levels
Mentor students to develop analytical, writing, and communication skills
Non-teaching duties
Participate in professional duties as necessary outside of the scope of the school day (e.g. Field trips, professional development on weekends as needed, and after school meetings as required)
Supervise duties at break/lunch and/or other unstructured times
Lead/coach an after school CCA (co-curricular activity)
Assist in internal sub coverage according to department needs
Provide any other reasonable duties delegated by the School
Contribute to school continuous improvement by being a member of assigned committee or work group
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature or related field.
IB teaching experience in English and Literature is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of inquiry-based teaching methods.
Ability to motivate and challenge students of different abilities.
