Company Description

The Robot Foundry (TRF), a.k.a Coboticca, is a Venture Studio for robotics startups based in Mumbai & Mysore, India. TRF focuses on R&D, innovation, and IP development in robotics and AI, with the aim of creating 3-5 robotics startups a year in the APAC / Japan / US / EU markets.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Founder - CEO (Equity Only) at a Home Assist Robot Startup idea we have developed. The Founder - CEO will be responsible for launching the startup & leading the strategic vision and growth of the startup, overseeing fundraising, customer acquisition, and building strategic partnerships. He/she along with the cofounder CTO (if he/she has one in mind and has worked with that person before) and the Studio team will take the idea from working prototype (which we have already built) to MVP and beyond.

Role Description

• On-board CTO with Studio's help
• Identify target customer needs. Map prototype robot to those needs and identify business-viable value-adds to drive MVP design & development
• Create investor pitch deck and business plan along with Venture Studio team
• Secure pre-seed / seed investments, incorporate and launch the venture
• Work with Venture Studio designated vendors to manufacture the GEN 1 commercial model and launch the product
• Develop and execute GTM strategy and plan to drive market adoption at scale.
• Develop and administer post-sales product support.
• Manage operations per business goals agreed upon with investors and the Venture Studio Vision.

Position reports to the Board.

Must-Have

• Be not more than 45 years of age
• Experience in Business leadership in consumer
  in APAC / Japan / SEA region
• P&L ownership of a business/business division of a consumer electronics product company/category that caters to the home segment
• Ideal domains : consumer appliances/electronics/home automation
• MANDATORY to have a deep understanding and experience of launching and building a consumer electronics brand
• Prior ownership of
  Business Development
  of a substantial territory
• Brand building
• Strategic planning
• MIS & reporting (preferably to CXOs and or boards/investors)
• Strong networks - customers, partners, talent, investors, vendors
• Built, scaled and retained teams
• Highest levels of transparency, integrity and commitment

Nice-to-Have

• Preferably a 2nd time founder: scaled up an investor-backed business and ideally created a successful exit OR a corporate leader with P&L experience in an established (APAC scale at the minimum) consumer appliances/home automation company
• Strong networks in VC, angel networks in target markets
• Understanding of Hardware + Firmware + Software or able to visualise how it all comes together

Compensation:

This is a very early-stage co-founder role. There is NO initial salary. We are offering a very attractive equity percentage in studio/startups. The specific equity stake will be based on experience, commitment level, and the value you bring. This is an opportunity to build and own a significant part of a company with groundbreaking potential.

We are looking for entrepreneurs ONLY and NOT someone seeking a corporate job. Candidates have to be prepared to and have the capacity to go without a salary until funds are raised.
