As a counsellor in NTU, you will play a crucial role to enable NTU to fulfil its mission for student wellbeing and support. As a team member of the University Counselling Centre, you will provide counselling for undergraduate and graduate students and engage with various internal and external stakeholders to promote a NTU campus community approach to mental health.Responsibilities:Counselling and case management and consultation Provide professional counselling services to NTU undergraduate and graduate students.Provide consultation to staff, family members, and peers on concerns they have regarding a student and provide case management support, especially for students at-risk.Document and maintain proper clinical records in accordance with policies and procedures of the University Counselling Centre. Psychological critical incident management Provide consultation and psychological critical incident management to suicidal or severely distressed students and staff, and where needed, in getting immediate treatment for such students/staff through working closely with various stakeholders (e.g. Support and Care Team, Associate/Assistant Chairs and Student Care Managers of Schools, Faculty-in-Residence, Campus Security, Office of Human Resource, NIE Wellness Centre, etc.). Community approach to case management Work collaboratively with and make recommendations to schools, student service offices, Halls of Residence, etc. to facilitate a campus community approach towards managing students with complex/severe mental health issues.Work in inter-disciplinary teams (e.g. Educational/Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist, Counsellor) to provide evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions/treatment to students with complex/severe mental health issues and/or co-morbid issues (e.g. Special Education Needs and mental health issues).Liaise with other professionals (e.g. psychiatrists, doctors) and Social Service Agencies to mobilise community resources to provide care and support for the students.Refer and/or recommend external service interventions (e.g. family therapy) as part of the student’s overall treatment plan.Conduct training on a range of mental health issues and evidence-based intervention strategies for staff. Strategic support in University Counselling Centre (UCC)/University Wellbeing Office (UWO) Evaluate and/or develop service provisions for students and provide clinical updates/feedback to UCC.Provide strategic support to team lead and Head, UCC in the overall provision of UCC services.Maintain and submit statistical data and/or related reports to Head, UCC as and when required.Implement/organize and/or participate in initiatives and programmes under UCC and/or UWO.Perform additional duties as assigned by Head, UCC or Director, UWO Administrative support in University Counselling Centre (UCC) Oversee the daily operations of UCC and Satellite Counselling in Schools (SOAR), ensuring efficient and effective functioning.Monitor and manage UCC’s facilities and equipment, and work with Executive (Care and Counselling) to ensure proper maintenance and addressing any issues or repairs.Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure necessary supplies, equipment, and services for UCC and SCS.Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports and documentation related to UCC and SOAR operations, and budget.Coordinate with University Wellbeing Office (UWO) to manage UCC’s budget, monitor expenses and ensure financial compliance Requirements: Graduate qualification in counselling, counselling psychology or clinical psychology.Preferably a registered counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or a registered psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS).About 3-4 years of professional counselling experience and competent in case management and critical incident management.Proficient in professional counselling approaches and tools to help clients with diverse issues and conditionsExperience in working with young adults, preferable in a university settingExperience in working in a multi-disciplinary team and conducting Continual Professional Development training for staff is advantageous.Experience in operations management, preferable in education or counselling environment.Strong attention to details and commitment to maintaining accuracy in all operational aspects.Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.Possess professional values that are in line with the Code of Ethics of SAC or SPS.Possess good interpersonal and communication skillsProficient in IT skills (e.g. Microsoft 365, use of Apps, appointment booking systems, case management systems) Hiring Institution: NTU
