A personal project is seeking an experienced animator to produce a 12-minute short film. The selected freelancer will oversee the full animation process, from concept visualization through to final rendering, ensuring a cohesive and visually compelling piece. This is a remote, full-time contract role, ideal for a senior-level animator who can combine technical skill with creative storytelling. As no specific animation style has been predetermined, the role offers creative freedom to propose and execute a distinctive approach that best serves the narrative.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end animation production for a 12-minute short film.
Collaborate on creative direction, visual style, and storytelling approach.
Develop character designs, backgrounds, and visual assets where required.
Produce smooth, professional-quality animation aligned with the film's narrative.
Handle scene transitions, timing, and pacing to enhance emotional impact.
Deliver a polished final cut ready for distribution and screening.
Ensure project delivery within agreed timelines while maintaining artistic consistency.
Skills and Requirements
Proven experience creating short films or long-form animation projects.
Strong portfolio demonstrating both technical expertise and creative vision.
Proficiency with industry-standard animation software (e.g., Toon Boom, Adobe After Effects, Blender, Maya, TVPaint, or equivalent).
Ability to manage multiple stages of production, including storyboarding, asset creation, animation, and post-production.
Skilled in visual storytelling, character movement, and emotional expression.
Strong understanding of timing, composition, and cinematic techniques.
Capacity to work independently on a large-scale project while meeting deadlines.
Previous experience in film or narrative-driven projects is highly desirable.
