Academic Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development & Review
    Lead the design, review, and enhancement of course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment tools.
    Ensure alignment of training content with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) competency frameworks, WSQ standards, or other relevant accreditation requirements.
    Coordinate development of new courses in response to industry trends and learner needs.
  • Academic Planning & Delivery
    Prepare annual academic calendars, timetables, and trainer deployment schedules.
    Oversee training delivery to ensure teaching quality, consistency, and learner engagement.
    Ensure sufficient academic resources (e.g., equipment, learning materials, e-learning tools) are available for effective training.
  • Trainer Management
    Recruit, onboard, mentor, and appraise trainers/instructors.
    Plan and conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions to ensure pedagogical standards are met.
    Ensure trainer qualifications meet regulatory requirements (e.g., ACTA/ACLP for WSQ courses).
  • Learner Support & Progress Monitoring
    Oversee learner enrolment, orientation, and academic advising.
    Monitor student attendance, assessment results, and graduation rates.
    Manage appeals, grievances, and academic misconduct cases in accordance with policy.

Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Accreditation
    Maintain compliance with SSG and other regulatory requirements.
    Oversee preparation for audits, renewals, and re-accreditations.
    Maintain and update Academic & Examination Policies, Quality Manuals, and SOPs.
  • Internal Quality Audits
    Implement regular internal audits of course delivery, assessment, and administrative processes.
    Review and act on feedback from trainers, learners, and industry partners to drive improvements.
  • Assessment & Examination Integrity
    Ensure assessment and examination processes comply with awarding body requirements.
    Oversee secure handling of assessment papers, results moderation, and appeals processes.
  • Data & Performance Monitoring
    Track KPIs such as course completion rates, learner satisfaction scores, and trainer performance metrics.
    Compile and present academic performance and compliance reports to senior management.
  • Continuous Improvement
    Lead initiatives to improve teaching quality, learner experience, and operational efficiency.
    Stay updated with best practices in adult education, instructional design, and industry standards.

Administrative & Strategic Duties

  • Contribute to strategic planning for academic programs and institutional growth.
  • Liaise with industry partners, awarding bodies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage academic budget allocations for materials, equipment, and trainer development.
