Job Title: School Facilities Maintenance Assistant

Clean, wash, sweep, mop, dust and vacuum assigned school facilities to maintain a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.

  • Responsibilities:
  • • Clean and sanitise toilet facilities and Nurse Room.
  • • Arrange tables, chairs, desks, etc. to provide adequate preparation for the classroom activities and events.
  • • Empty and clean garbage bins, remove trash, etc. to allocated disposal points.
  • • Respond to immediate safety and / or operational concerns for the purpose of taking appropriate action to resolve immediate safety.
  • • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • • Ensure that all chemicals are securely stored away when not in use.
  • • Clean and tidy cleaning materials and equipment storage areas in a clean and tidy condition.
  • • Ensure Supervisor is aware of low stock levels of supplies and equipment (eg cleaning solutions, toiletries, mops, trash bags, etc.).
  • • Inform the Supervisor of any defects found in the areas that the Cleaner is assigned to.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Able to work independently and also in a team.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
