Job Title: Commodities Trader

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commodity Trader to join our organisation in Singapore. As a Commodity Trader, you will be responsible for efficiently arranging derivatives transactions for clients, providing market insights and analysis, and pricing updates in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with colleagues and clients to support with providing market insights and analysis, and pricing updates in a timely manner.
  • Support with the arranging and execution of futures and options trades on behalf of clients.
  • Build and develop relationships with new and existing clients to drive growth.
  • Participate and attend all necessary regulatory training.
  • Assist the Onboarding team regarding AML/KYC due diligence queries.
  • Be responsible for your individual regulatory compliance, and support the team with ensuring they meet this also.
  • Attend team meetings to discuss commercial performance.
  • Represent the company at industry events and initiatives, and act as an ambassador.
  • Be aware of the business strategy for the company and seek to help identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients.
  • Travel and attend client social events where required.
  • Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

  • Qualified - holding all the necessary regulatory registrations required for the role, including compulsory examinations.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience or exposure of commodity or freight derivatives broking or trading is preferred, with at least 10 years' relevant experience
  • Foundational understanding of financial markets and derivatives broking is advantageous.
  • Strong numeracy skills and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good commercial instinct and negotiation skills.
  • Confident and able to work well under pressure.
  • Proactive learning mindset.
  • Good MS office skills.
