Location: SingaporeReporting to: Head of Legal (based in China)Seniority: 2-7 PQE - open About the Role I am partnered with a leading Chinese commodities trading house with global presence. We are seeking a mid-level Legal Counsel to join the Singapore office.This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of global commodities trading and corporate advisory within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will work closely with trading, operations, compliance, and external counsel across jurisdictions.Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate trading-related contracts, including but not limited to: (1) physical commodity contracts (Sale & Purchase etc); (2) Logistics, Warehousing, Service Agreements Involvement with cross-border M&A projects governed by common law Provide legal support for corporate matters, including regulatory, employment, data privacy, and corporate governance issues Advise internal stakeholders on legal risk, contract management, and compliance-related queries Coordinate with external counsel on cross-border matters and litigation when necessary Stay up to date with legal and regulatory developments impacting commodities trading in APAC and globally Requirements Singapore qualified lawyer with around 2-7 years of post-qualification experience, with experience from a law firm or in-house at a commodities, trading, or financial services firm, open to Oil & Gas/Metals/Agri Experience with trading contracts and commercial agreements Exposure to commodities trading, financial derivatives, or shipping/logistics contracts preferred Experience handling a broad range of corporate legal and compliance matters Able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple jurisdictions Fluency in Mandarin is essential to liaise with internal stakeholders and review documents in Mandarin What We Offer Autonomy with exposure to front-office decision-making Competitive compensation and benefits Opportunity to work in a high-impact role with a global commodities trading platform If you believe you fit the requirements for the role, please click APPLY NOW or send an email to with your latest CV.
