In research, SIT faculty aims to bridge knowledge creation and utilization, working closely with industry on translational research and innovation to address significant challenges and positively impact businesses.
The Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent (START) Scheme, co-funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and SIT, encourages and supports exceptional Singaporeans interested in pursuing an academic career at SIT.
The Early Career Awards (ECA)
are designed to support Singaporeans who have recently completed postdoctoral training and prepare them for an academic career at SIT. The award aims to enhance teaching capabilities and build a strong research portfolio. Awardees may receive research grants and are considered for Assistant Professorship after the scheme. Each awardee is assigned a faculty mentor.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Singapore Citizen
Recently completed postdoctoral training
Excellent academic record and high proficiency/motivation in a research area aligned with SIT’s supported areas
Strong passion for teaching, research, and academia
Application process is ongoing, with consideration for the 2026 intake for applications received before 15 January 2026. Shortlisted applicants will undergo interviews throughout the year, with final interviews from March to April 2026. Awards will be finalized by July 2026.

Health Sciences:
Diagnostic Radiography:
Use of ionising radiation and radioactive substances for diagnostic imaging to facilitate diagnosis and treatment.
Dietetics:
Management of medical conditions and health promotion through food and nutrition, including medical nutrition therapy.
Nursing:
Providing health services to individuals, families, and communities.
Speech and Language Therapy:
Assessment, diagnosis, and management of communication and swallowing disorders.
Occupational Therapy:
Assessment and interventions to enable individuals affected by injuries or disabilities to perform daily activities independently.
Physiotherapy:
Assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of pain and physical dysfunctions using various therapeutic methods.
