Overview A leading international commodities trading firm with a strong presence in global markets is looking to hire for a Senior/Logistics executive to join their fast-growing business. This role is pivotal in managing logistics operations and supplier partnerships across North America, ensuring shipments are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The position involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with logistics partners, including carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party providers, while supporting the evaluation and onboarding of new vendors and assisting in drafting and implementing service agreements. Responsibilities As the primary point of contact for daily logistics activities, the Senior Logistics Executive coordinates shipment bookings, monitors order status, and provides timely delivery updates. Responsibilities also include validating logistics costs, confirming cargo insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate shipment documentation. A strong focus on operational risk management is essential, including identifying and resolving potential disruptions such as booking errors, equipment shortages, or delivery delays, and overseeing issue resolution processes when needed. Additionally, the role involves gathering and analyzing logistics and market data to provide actionable insights that support broader business and supply chain strategies. Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience in logistics, particularly in the shipping, commodities, or metals industries. Familiarity with ERP systems and strong stakeholder management skills are essential.
