We are looking for Assistant Director of Housekeeping to join our teamThe Assistant Director of Housekeeping plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. This includes ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction, team performance, and compliance with Shangri-La's policies and procedures. The role supports strategic planning, resource management, and continuous improvement across all housekeeping functions. Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence Uphold Shangri-La's Quality Standards, Service Standards, and Group Specifications across all housekeeping areas. Conduct daily inspections of guest floors, public areas, laundry, and back-of-house facilities. Ensure preventive maintenance and general cleaning schedules are executed effectively. Monitor and maintain safe storage and usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies. Maintain key control procedures and ensure hygiene regulations are strictly followed. Guest Experience & Service Standards Ensure all guest interactions are handled with professionalism and care. Collect and act on guest preferences to personalise service and enhance satisfaction. Respond promptly to guest feedback, escalate service defects, and ensure follow-up actions are completed. Support epidemic prevention and emergency response tasks as needed. People Management & Development Prepare and revise manning guides based on business volume and operational needs. Lead recruitment efforts to hire qualified candidates aligned with market conditions. Develop and implement annual training plans; conduct regular training sessions. Identify and mentor Section Trainers; support career development for team members. Conduct performance reviews and manage disciplinary actions when necessary. Foster a positive, motivated, and collaborative working environment. Administrative & Financial Oversight Assist in preparing annual budgets, capital expenditure proposals, and operating equipment par levels. Analyse monthly reports (e.g., usage factors, overtime, QIP) and recommend improvements. Ensure accurate inventory control and documentation in compliance with Shangri-La policies. Submit intranet reports and maintain up-to-date SOPs and training records. Communication & Coordination Develop and utilise communication tools to ensure effective information flow within the department. Liaise with other divisions to coordinate cross-functional housekeeping support. Represent the department in meetings and contribute to hotel-wide initiatives. Safety, Hygiene & Environmental Responsibility Facilitate safety and security training programmes to ensure staff awareness. Lead hygiene audits and ensure compliance with health regulations. Promote and participate in environmental initiatives and community programmes. Support the hotel's CSR efforts and uphold Shangri-La's guiding principles. Key Requirements At least 5 years' working experience under the housekeeping department within the hospitality industry.
