Position Overview:
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Portfolio Analyst
to join our team. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their career in venture capital and ecosystem building. A passion for innovation in maritime, logistics, or sustainability is a strong plus.
The Portfolio Analyst will work closely with our investment, portfolio and ecosystem teams to support portfolio companies, analyse performance data, and strengthen our network of strategic partners. This is a high-ownership role where you’ll have the autonomy to drive impact from day one.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio Reporting and Analysis:
Track, analyse, and report on key performance metrics across portfolio companies.
Maintain internal dashboards to monitor trends and startup progress.
Assist in the preparation of fund updates, LP reports, and internal presentation materials.
Portfolio Support:
Support monitoring and evaluating portfolio company performance.
Facilitate communication with founders and stakeholders to align with Motion Ventures' objectives.
Provide strategic and operational support to nurture portfolio startups' growth.
Ecosystem Development:
Foster a strong ecosystem to aid lead generation for the investment team.
Help build and manage relationships with co-investors, corporates, and ecosystem partners.
Identify opportunities for collaboration, pilot programs, or knowledge sharing.
Support the portfolio team by surfacing qualified leads and sourcing through partnerships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Strong analytical thinking and numerical literacy - able to interpret data, extract insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
Resourceful, fast learner, and highly detail-oriented. Able to work independently and solve problems proactively.
A “specialised generalist” - comfortable wearing multiple hats and applying a broad range of skills across different functions.
Strong interest in venture capital and the startup ecosystem.
Prior experience (including internships) in venture capital, startup portfolio management, or accelerator/incubator programmes is a strong advantage.
Familiarity or interest in basic tech tools (e.g. database management, landing page setup) is a bonus.
