Learning Support Specialist
The position of Learning Support Specialist is a critical role in our organization, requiring an individual who can provide high-quality learning support services to students with varying learning difficulties. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical services, including screening, identification, and assessments for students with reading, spelling, decoding, comprehension, and writing challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans that address the specific needs of each student.
- Provide consultation, individual and/or group evidence-based interventions and strategies to support students' literacy skills.
- Conduct continuous evaluation to measure outcomes of therapeutic interventions.
Additionally, the Learning Support Specialist will be responsible for coaching, training, and programme development, collaborating with the school's English Department to support teaching, curriculum planning, and resource development.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver in-house training programs.
- Provide supervision and mentorship support to new or junior therapists.
The ideal candidate will possess at least a recognized degree from a recognized University, with teaching qualifications or equivalent in Special Education preferred. They will also have experience in providing learning support to children with literacy challenges and/or learning support experience for students at Primary Level.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in providing learning support to children with literacy challenges.
- Prior experience working in the field of special education and/or working with individuals with special needs is an added advantage.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking abilities. They will be able to work independently and effectively, with a strong command of English (written and spoken).
