Job Title: Special Education Learning Support Specialist

Job Description

The Special Education Learning Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting Teachers to provide quality learning experiences for students with disabilities.

Critical Work Functions:

  • Support Curriculum and Instructional Excellence by collaborating with Teachers to develop lesson plans, preparing learning environments, and assisting students during lessons.
  • Assist Teachers in maintaining classroom environments, facilities, and resources to maximize student engagement.
  • Support Students' Holistic Development by providing safe relationships and environments, building strong relationships with students, and assisting Teachers in observing student progress.
  • Collaborate with Allied Professionals and stakeholders to plan and execute development strategies for students.
  • Develop Self for Greater Impact by reviewing and reflecting on teaching work to seek improvement in professional competencies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Higher NITEC in a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities is highly valued.
  • Physical stamina is required as the role may involve lifting and carrying students and equipment.
  • At all times, the Special Education Learning Support Specialist must prioritize the health and safety of students.
