Transplant Coordinator, SingHealth Duke-NUS Transplant Centre
Join to apply for the Transplant Coordinator role at SingHealth Duke-NUS Transplant Centre (SDTC). As a transplant coordinator, you will impact the lives of patients and their families. You will identify potential donors from the pool of brain death and cardiac death in SingHealth hospitals and work as part of a multidisciplinary team throughout the transplant journey. You will also support the Organ Donation Oversight Committee as a transplant advocate and assist in organ donation initiatives to raise awareness among internal and external stakeholders.
You will acquire clinical knowledge (medical, surgical, human physiology and organ tissue-cell specific anatomies), be familiar with common ailments and chronic diseases, and be well-versed with legislations that permit organ donation. You will order and interpret basic diagnostics and laboratory tests. You will perform on-call duties on a rotational basis to support the organ donation and transplant programmes. You may be trained to deliver care to more than one transplant program to support the strategic goals of SDTC and will be responsible for follow-up, education and care across the continuum from pre-transplant to post-transplant in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. You will also participate in transplant-related projects carried out by SDTC.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential organ donors (brain death and cardiac death) within SingHealth hospitals.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support patients and families throughout the transplant journey.
- Support the Organ Donation Oversight Committee as a transplant advocate and assist in organ donation initiatives to raise awareness.
- Acquire clinical knowledge across relevant medical areas and understand related legislations for organ donation.
- Order and interpret basic diagnostic tests; perform on-call duties on a rotational basis.
- Deliver care across transplant programs, provide follow-up and education per established protocols; participate in SDTC projects.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Nursing, Psychology or Life/Health Sciences
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with delicate and sensitive situations
- Pleasant disposition and ability to work independently
- Willing to perform on-call duties on a rotational basis and willing to learn
- Able to multi-task and perform time-sensitive work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Good team player and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
