We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented professional to lead the license contracting and optimization workstream within our
SAP migration program . This role is critical to ensuring a cost-effective, compliant and secure transition from legacy SAP systems to
SAP S/4HANA , including potential adoption of
RISE with SAP .
Responsibilities
License Strategy & Optimization:
Align SAP licensing with future-state architecture and business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise license types and usage across evolving platform requirements.
Vendor & Contract Management:
Serve as the primary liaison with SAP and third-party vendors. Lead negotiations on license scope, pricing, credits, and contract flexibility to support scalability and organisational change.
License Execution & Compliance:
Oversee license conversion ahead of migration, manage maintenance fee transitions, and ensure ongoing compliance during the ECC to S/4HANA coexistence phase.
Cybersecurity & Risk Governance:
Drive security verification with software vendors to ensure all components meet internal policies and external regulatory standards.
Transition & Dual-Use Planning:
Secure dual-use rights, fallback provisions, and temporary keys to support phased rollouts and reduce migration risk.
Support Cost Optimisation:
Evaluate and negotiate support costs pre- and post-conversion, ensuring fees reflect net license value and favourable commercial terms.
Qualifications
Deep knowledge of SAP licensing lifecycle, including BOM preparation, pricing models, and optimisation levers.
Hands-on experience with SAP ECC and S/4HANA (Cloud and On-Premise), including familiarity with RISE with SAP license models.
Expertise in SAP user activity analysis, license usage classification, and license conversion processes.
Strong cross-functional understanding of S/4HANA Finance, Sales, Material Master, SuccessFactors, and BTP integration.
Financial acumen and strategic thinking, with keen attention to contractual detail.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills in complex, high-stakes environments.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
