Clinical Psychologist Position Overview

The Clinical Psychologist will provide clinical assessment and psychological interventions to improve the mental health of children and adolescents in schools. They will formulate and develop care management plans for referred students in collaboration with community partners, as well as support Allied Educators in schools to manage students with mental health conditions.

This role involves developing a mental health network for children and adolescents in the community.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective care management plans for students with mental health conditions.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students, as needed.
  • Collaborate with school staff, community agencies, and parents to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in clinical psychology.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology or Educational Psychology from a recognised university.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work independently in a multidisciplinary team, as well as with professionals from other organisations.
  • Proficiency in communication skills (spoken and written); proficiency in a second language (spoken) is preferred.
  • Well-developed clinical assessment and formulation skills.
  • Experience in conducting cognitive and academic assessments (preferred).
  • Eligible for valid registration, licence or practising certificate with an established or recognised psychological professional body such as SRP, APA, APS or BPS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of child development theory and research.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, community agencies, and parents.
