We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Technical Pre‑Sales Manager to lead solution development and drive sales growth across the Telecommunications, Data Center, Utility, and Industrial sectors. This hybrid role combines both pre‑sales engineering and direct sales responsibilities, requiring a strong ability to understand customer requirements, design tailored technical solutions, and convert opportunities into successful deals. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, commercial acumen, and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels, from engineers to C‑suite decision‑makers. This position plays a critical role in bridging the gap between customer needs and our product offerings, contributing directly to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and strategic expansion across key markets. Main Responsibilities and Tasks Will be responsible for leading the development and presentation of technical solutions that align with customer requirements across the telecommunications, data center, utility, and industrial sectors. This includes engaging with clients to understand their needs, preparing proposals, technical documentation, and solution designs, and supporting the sales cycle from lead qualification through to deal closure. The role also involves building strong relationships with customers, consultants, and partners, coordinating with internal teams for solution validation and delivery, and managing vendor communications to ensure competitive and technically sound proposals. Additionally, the candidate is expected to stay informed of industry trends and contribute insights to enhance product offerings and business development efforts. Additional Responsibilities & Tasks Will support project handovers by ensuring all technical documentation and solution details are clearly communicated to the delivery teams. The role may involve occasional post‑sales technical assistance, such as site meetings or troubleshooting. The candidate is also expected to contribute to training efforts for customers, partners, and internal staff, as well as support marketing initiatives such as technical workshops, webinars, and content development. Working closely with channel partners, the manager will assist in solution development and technical enablement to strengthen partner capabilities. Internally, the candidate will help improve proposal processes, tools, and documentation, and actively participate in strategic discussions around product development, pricing, and go‑to‑market plans. Job Requirements Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in a technical pre‑sales, solution engineering, or sales engineering role, with a proven track record of supporting and closing complex solution‑based sales. Telecommunications: Understanding of telco infrastructure, power systems for telecom towers, edge computing, or network rollouts. Data Centers: Familiarity with data center infrastructure, including power backup systems (UPS, batteries, generators), cooling, and modular data center design. Utilities: Exposure to electrical distribution, energy storage systems, renewable integration, or power quality solutions for utility customers. Industrial: Knowledge of industrial automation systems, factory power solutions, or mission‑critical backup systems. Demonstrated ability to design and propose technical solutions tailored to customer needs within these industries, including preparing BOMs, technical drawings, or solution documentation. Experience engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including consultants, project managers, procurement, and technical engineering teams, throughout the sales lifecycle. Exposure to vendor coordination and multi‑party proposal development, including the ability to challenge, evaluate, and validate third‑party technical proposals. Preferred experience in working with regional or multi‑country customers across Southeast Asia is a plus (e.g., Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, etc.). Strong technical knowledge and solution design expertise across relevant systems and technologies. Experienced in pre‑sales support, including proposals, RFPs, and customer presentations. Effective communicator, skilled in engaging stakeholders and coordinating with internal teams. Market‑aware, with focus on customer feedback and product improvement. Excellent command of English (spoken and written) is required. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, or other regional languages is an added advantage, especially for communicating with local clients, vendors, and partners. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Able to create compelling sales presentations, proposals, and reports with clarity and structure. Comfortable using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) to manage leads, opportunities, and customer records. Basic knowledge of design or diagramming tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Visio, or SketchUp) for layout planning or conceptual presentations is a plus. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail when evaluating customer needs, technical requirements, and vendor proposals. Able to troubleshoot issues during pre‑sales and elevate/coordinate effectively for resolution. Confident in delivering presentations and conducting technical discussions or demos in customer‑facing settings. Must be able to travel within the region, if required.
