Environmental Control Officer Position

The role of an Environmental Control Officer is a critical one, as they are responsible for identifying and addressing environmental health problems on construction sites.

  • Disease-bearing insects and rodents must be controlled to prevent the spread of disease.
  • Construction waste must be disposed of properly to minimize its impact on the environment.
  • Noise, air, and dust pollution must be mitigated to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Earth littering must be prevented to maintain a clean and healthy workspace.
  • Siltation of drains must be addressed to prevent flooding and waterborne illnesses.
  • Food hygiene in canteens must be maintained to prevent the spread of illness.

This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to identify potential environmental health problems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental health and safety, with at least 3 years of experience in a related field.

A Professional Certificate in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent is required, as well as specialized knowledge in Engineering - Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent. Non-Executive positions are preferred.
