Applications Manager

Job Summary: The successful applicant will plan and implement the Applications, Data Analytics and Generative AI strategies for the School. The role reports to the Senior Applications Manager.Requirements: Degree holder or equivalent Previous experience in a project management, business process management, change management or business analyst role would be an advantage Proficient in Project Management, Software Development, API Integrations, Data Analytics and Dashboard Development, and Generative AI Working knowledge of MS SQL SSIS, SSRS and MS C# and .NET will be an advantage Strong problem solving, critical thinking, communication and project management skills Major focus on data protection and security Knowledge of the following systems would be beneficial: School's Application: iSAMS Student Management System Microsoft and Google in an education setting Key Responsibilities 1. Software Selection and Implementation • Oversee and be involved in selecting and implementing software applications that support the school's educational and administrative functions.• This includes student information systems, learning management systems, admission systems, student billing and finance systems, human resource systems, safeguarding systems, events and visitors' management systems, and other educational software.• Oversee and be involved in the implementation of Data Analytics and Generative AI projects.• Software development using Microsoft C# and .NET• Software development using MS SQL, SSIS and SSRS• Integrate various software applications and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.2. System Administration • Oversee the administration of these applications, ensuring they are properly configured, maintained, and updated to meet the school's needs.• Annual rollover of the systems for the new Academic Year.3. User Support • Provide support to users, including teachers, administrators, and students, to help them effectively use the software applications.4. Data Management • Responsible for managing the school's data, ensuring it is accurate, secure, and compliant with relevant regulations.5. Roles and Permissions Review • Regularly reviewing and updating roles and permissions within the school's software applications to ensure that access is appropriate and secure.• This involves working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensuring that access controls are aligned with the principle of least privilege.6. Third-Party Vendor and Application Assessment • Assessing the cybersecurity practices of third-party vendors who provide software or services to the school.• Evaluating the security measures in place to protect data and systems, as well as ensuring that contractual agreements include appropriate cybersecurity requirements.7. Security Incident Response • Developing and implementing plans for responding to cybersecurity incidents, such as data breaches or malware attacks.• This involves coordinating with internal teams and external resources to mitigate the impact of the incident and prevent future occurrences.8. Risk Assessment and Management • Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential cybersecurity risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.• This may include implementing additional security controls or updating policies and procedures.9. Budgeting and Planning • Involved in budgeting for software applications and planning for future software needs.10. General Demonstrate a positive attitude towards users and their needs. Operate within the policies of the School. On an annual basis, complete the Review and Development exercise and undertake identified development opportunities. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of all Professional Development opportunities Occasional overtime is required as deemed necessary and reasonable by the School.
