Role Your Role As Legal Counsel, you will play a central role in our legal operations, leading efforts across commercial agreements, fundraising legalities, and regulatory interactions throughout Southeast Asia. This position calls for a proactive legal professional who thrives in dynamic settings and is skilled at managing both external counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and compliant legal processes. Responsibilities Commercial Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, partnership contracts, and customer terms. Fundraising Legal Support: Oversee legal due diligence, manage investor agreements, and ensure compliance with applicable securities laws during fundraising initiatives. Regulatory Compliance: Interact with financial regulators across Southeast Asia to ensure full compliance with regional laws and regulations. External Counsel Management: Coordinate with external legal advisors to provide efficient and jurisdiction-specific legal support. Internal Legal Framework: Design and implement internal policies, compliance protocols, and risk management strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Offer legal guidance to teams such as product, operations, and business development to ensure legal alignment with business goals. Qualifications Experience: 4–6 years of legal practice, ideally with a blend of law firm and in-house experience in the fintech or financial services sector. Regional Expertise: In-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks in Southeast Asian markets, including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Startup Acumen: Proven ability to succeed in fast-paced, growth-driven environments, with strong adaptability and problem-solving capabilities. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across diverse teams and external partners. Educational Background: Law degree from a reputable institution; admission to practice in at least one Southeast Asian jurisdiction is preferred.
