Job Title: Train Operations Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Train Operations Coordinator to join our team in the Operations Control Centre (OCC). This role is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient train operations at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and controlling train operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable train services.
  • Regulating and monitoring train services closely in accordance with train timetable.
  • Making logical decisions and catering necessary service adjustments to meet passenger needs.
  • Coordinating and mobilising relevant Operations and Maintenance staff to deal with failure or unexpected events in an expeditious and safe manner.
  • Monitoring and overseeing daily station opening and ensuring that all station equipment are functional before the start of revenue service.
  • Assisting Chief Controller in information dissemination to passengers that are affected by rail incidents at the stations.
  • Informing relevant maintenance staff on equipment faults so that recovery actions can be taken.
  • Managing and controlling all work possessions and track access according to prescribed rules and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Able to perform rotating shift work including working on weekends and public holidays.
  • Familiarity with Operations Control Room environment is an added advantage.
  • This is a non-executive position.

  • Able to operate computer-based control systems.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment with individuals of diverse background.
  • Positive, open-minded, meticulous and alert individual.
  • Highly motivated and able to work under pressure and handle stress.
  • Able to think strategically and analyse systematically to make sound and safe decisions.
  • Ability to handle emergency situation in a calm and swift manner.
