Senior Food Process Engineer Job Description

We seek an experienced food process engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food processing and engineering, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

The role involves supervising and coordinating activities of food preparation, kitchen, pantry, and storeroom. Managing food stuff orders, kitchen supplies, and keeping track of inventory are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, participating in menu planning, preparing, apportioning foods, utilizing food surpluses, and optimizing overall kitchen costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of food and menus for special events and parties such as holidays, happy hours, and birthdays
  • Hiring and training kitchen cooks, setting prices for food items
  • Ability to apply basic knife skills
  • Maintaining menu knowledge and food presentation
  • Effective communication with management and staff
  • Addressing guest questions, needs, or concerns right away to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Performing all duties deemed necessary for the success of the team
  • Monitoring and completing food ordering, intake, and inspection of delivered items, as well as monthly supervision of food inventory
  • Preparing meals up to standards and expectations
  • Organizing and customizing daily food and beverage menus according to needs and safety of children and staff
  • Completing calculation of monthly meal count, maintaining cleanliness of entire kitchen, equipment, and operating machinery
  • NEA skills certification for Food Hygiene and Food officer is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prefer Diploma or Skills certification in F&B Culinary courses
  • Proven experience as head cook
  • Preferably past experience in relevant F&B, Indian F&B, Coastal Andhra, South Indian, and Indo-Chinese
  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
  • Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
  • Credentials in health and safety training
