What the day will look like
As the Head of Data & Analytics APAC, you will manage a team to deliver Data & Analytic capabilities to the Aon business. You will lead, develop and maintain the data and analytics strategy for the region, enhancing efficiency, execution, and colleague experience. This role involves building stakeholder relationships, driving modernization of data analytic tools, and promoting data governance and quality frameworks.
Stakeholder Relationships
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align analytics initiatives with business objectives.
Supervise team performance, development, and task delegation.
Data Governance
Work with business teams to define their key data needs for analytics and operational delivery.
Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies in alignment with industry practices.
Establish the framework for effective data governance locally.
Define data governance roles and promote a culture of data stewardship.
Identify and assign data stewards within the region.
Supervise data steward and analyst activities, providing guidance.
Implement data quality standards to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Report progress on data quality activities.
Support regional and global MDM activities.
Coordinate data governance initiatives within the region.
Participate in global and regional data governance forums.
Analytics and Operational Reporting Delivery
Drive the automation and self-service approach for operational reporting.
Provide data quality analysis of issues to stakeholders.
Lead analytics projects and generate actionable insights.
Ensure data integrity and reporting quality.
Data Operations
Ensure key data operation tasks are maintained for business continuity.
Collaborate with other teams to leverage capabilities.
Skills and Experience that will lead to success
Experience in BI, analytics, and data analytics with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience within finance/insurance preferred.
Experience in a large, complex environment across multiple business units.
Background in data analysis, quality, warehousing, and financial reporting.
Strong interest in new trends in AI & Data.
Superb communication skills to simplify complex information.
Expertise with relational databases and technologies like SQL Server, Oracle, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage/AWS S3.
Understanding of data management, security, privacy, and ethics.
Experience in logical and physical data model design.
Prior development experience in SQL, Python, PowerBI, Qlik.
Experience in technical accounting solutions for insurance policy management is a plus.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an IT-related field.
