Position Overview
This resource manages the day-to-day activities for the PMO of a strategic project for MSO and is a member of the Project Management and Change Management Office (PMCO) within MSO.
This resource is responsible for supporting the Project Director and Project Manager to successfully deliver a program comprising various applications, delivering a specific scope over multiple years. They ensure the project is well planned, on track, and highlight and track issues across different functions immediately, escalating any potential risks early to avoid project failure. They work with cross-functional teams, collaborating and coordinating with business users, internal and external teams, and vendors to ensure the project is completed within budget, scope, on time, and with quality. They provide regular progress updates to key stakeholders and management and escalate issues for resolution in a timely manner.
Role & Responsibilities
Maintain the Project Management Plan including project scope, objectives, assumptions, success factors, governance structure, vendor management, schedule, deliverables, budget, risks, communication plan, and issue management.
Manage day-to-day activities in the Program Management Office (PMO), such as project governance and tracking milestones and documentation.
Provide timely updates to stakeholders on project progress, issues, risks, resources, and budgets.
Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, record action items and decisions, and follow up on tasks.
Monitor and manage risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Report risks, issues, and mitigation progress to the user workgroup, steering committee, and project sponsor.
Escalate issues where necessary for attention and resolution.
Implement and communicate the project communication plan.
Maintain project health and governance standards.
Manage change control processes, perform impact assessments on scope changes, and adjust budgets, resources, and schedules accordingly.
Requirements
Experience with project management methodologies and the system development life cycle.
Strategic thinking, policy interpretation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with key stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
