What the role is: You provide accurate and timely analysis reports on defence capabilities and related developments in identified countries-of-interest in the Asia-Pacific region. What you will be working on: Conduct research on regional defence capabilities Monitor, analyse and identify trends in their defence procurement strategy, defence collaborations and technology development Produce high-quality, original research reports Present research findings to military leaders and relevant stakeholders Challenge(s)Keeping pace with the rapid changes in the defence and security landscape affecting the countries-of-interest, influencing their defence capability development and collaboration strategies Staying ahead of the curve and identify new trends and developments Synthesising large amounts of information Communicating complex issues to non-specialists Working under tight deadlines to deliver high-quality research products What we are looking for: Education in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies or a related field At least 6 years of experience in research and analysis is preferred Defence capability research background is advantageous Strong English language command Excellent writing abilities Critical thinking skills Comfortable to work independently or part of a team of analysts Interest and knowledge on current technology developments and their implications to defence capability Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
