Executive/Senior/Deputy Principal Engineer

What the role is: The Waste Management Division (WMD) oversees solid waste management operations in Singapore. The Waste Collection Department (WCD), under WMD, administers the Public Waste Collection scheme, regulates General Waste Collectors, implements Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System and Code of Practice requirements and carries out enforcements against breaches of legislative and licensing provisions, to ensure that waste is properly collected for disposal or recycling. We are seeking motivated individuals responsible for overseeing the waste collection systems adopted by all developments in Singapore. You will be required to work closely with various stakeholders in the government & private sectors on the waste collection systems implemented and in‑charge of the master‑planning and regulatory role of rolling out District Pneumatic Waste Conveyance System (DPWCS) for commercial and private sectors in Singapore. What you will be working on: Reviewing building plan submissions regarding the waste collection systems to ensure compliance to the relevant code of practices. Supporting CORENET X requirements gathering for waste related COPEH requirements. Conducting site inspections at new development to ensure waste storage and collection systems are according to submission and fit for purpose. Leading and managing a group of officers to address and respond to public feedback relating to waste collection systems. Coordinate and support NEA’s role as Single Source of Truth (SSOT) for PWCS data for Underground Masterplanning works. Review and update data standards on a periodic basis to ensure adherence to latest data governance standards. Manage, Administer and Disburse Funds for SSOT related works. Working on tasks, projects and events as assigned. What we are looking for: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic, Chemical, Environmental Engineering. At least 3 years of relevant working experience in reviewing of building plans and engineering drawings and management of geospatial related IT projects. Relevant skills and experience such as field enforcement and conduct of investigations. Able to work independently. A good team player with strong interpersonal skills. Good written and spoken communication skills and analytical skills. Meticulous with a good eye for details. Self‑motivated, resourceful, organised and able to multi‑task.
